You may know me as Professor Farina, Coach Kim, Camden's mom, or simply Kim. No matter how we’ve crossed paths, one thing remains the same: you know my passion is helping people overcome obstacles and live the life they dream.
Life is full of challenges, but challenges do not have to define our future. With the right support, resources, coaching, and commitment, obstacles can become opportunities for growth and achievement.

AN INSPIRING JOURNEY
Raised in southeast Los Angeles, Kim was inspired by the social injustices she witnessed. She decided to become a 1st generation lawyer in order to advocate for voice for others.
Prior to law school, Kim was part of the American Honda Motor Company, a unique management training program for college graduated. Kim was one of only 9 graduates selected from a pool of several thousand candidates around the country.
During law school, Kim gained experience with various organizations including the Los Angeles District Attorney's office Family Violence Unit, the Alliance for Children's Rights and the LA County Barrister's DV Project. She even studied Comparative Constitutional Rights and International IP law at the University of London.
After law school she began a 12-year career for a small college. Starting as an adjunct, and leaving as Campus President, she launched new programs & new campuses, earned multiple accreditations, taught over 150 courses and received awards such as 'National Instructor of the Year'.
In 2019, she joined the College of Law & Public Service at the University of La Verne. She currently teaches Contract and Sales Law. She is a member of the Faculty Senate Committee on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. She was named the 2023 Professor of the Year; received the Heart of Equality: Diversity & Inclusivity Award in 2024 & 2025; & received the Held Commitment to Service Award in 2022, 2023, & 2024.
Since Kim is full-time at the university, Belyn Alvarez helps run the firm. Belyn is a southern California native that recently obtained her J.D. and M.P.A. She was a phenomenal teaching fellow for Kim's classes and recently passed the 2025 California bar exam.
In October 2024, after seeing the need for additional guidance for travel ball families, Kim and her long time friend Anthony Smith, started Foothill Athlete Management. In January 2026, Kim added the law firm to ensure we can provide the services needed by athletes and their families as they chase dreams, face obstacles, build wealth, enter into contracts, and need help navigating all of this.
